Learn Moonology Cards
Flashcards & quiz for all 44 cards
The 44 cards of the Moonology deck are organised by astronomical category — 8 lunar phases, 12 New Moons by sign, 12 Full Moons by sign, and 12 special cards (eclipses, super-moon, blue-moon, black-moon, nodes, lunar aspects). The flashcards below let you cycle through cards by category, which is the most efficient way to absorb them: learn the phases first, then drill the New Moon set, then the Full Moon set, finally the specials. The quiz mode tests both card recognition and lunar timing (when does a Waning Crescent occur in the cycle? what does a Full Moon in Capricorn ask of you?). Because Moonology is calendar-aware, the most fertile learning practice is to align study with the actual sky — pull the corresponding card on the day of each new and full moon for a few months. Each zodiac-keyed card carries the energy of its sign as filtered through the lunar tonality: a Full Moon in Aries reads differently from a New Moon in Aries (full = harvest and peak emotional release; new = sowing intention and fresh start) even though both share Aries' courage and impatience. Spend a week reading about the 12 zodiac signs in parallel to the deck if astrology is new to you — Moonology will repay that investment many times over. The 12 specials are best learned last: they describe rarer events (eclipses every six months, blue moon every 2-3 years, lunar nodes shifting every 18 months) and only make sense once the regular cycle is internalised. Treat them as bonus vocabulary, not foundational material.
