Moonology Oracle

Traditional 44-card oracle — complete meanings, symbolism and combinations

The Moonology Oracle is a modern lunar deck created by Yasmin Boland in 2017, organised around the moon's phases and signs rather than around symbols of daily life. Its 44 cards distribute as 8 phases (New Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Third Quarter, Waning Crescent), 12 New Moons by zodiac sign, 12 Full Moons by zodiac sign, and 12 special cards (eclipses, super-moon, blue-moon, black-moon, nodes, lunar aspects). The system is therefore astrological from the ground up — a reading positions a question inside the lunar cycle and inside the wheel of the year. The Moonology suits people who already follow new and full moons, who plant ritual intentions on lunations, or who want a calendar-aware oracle that thinks in cycles rather than events. Yasmin Boland has been one of the most-read astrology columnists in the English-speaking world for two decades, and her Moonology framework has crossed into mainstream lunar-living practice — apps, retreats, podcast culture. The deck reflects that: it is friendly to readers who have never opened an astrology book, but it also rewards those who know their natal moon and ascendant. Below you will find the full Moonology library — meanings card by card, every combination written out for the 946 possible pairings, the history, the beginner guide, an interactive draw, and a flashcards mode for both the phases and the zodiac-keyed cards.
